Muscle building Nutrition
Nutrition is vital in the muscle building process. Most body builders agree building muscle is about 50% training, 50% nutrition. Imagine wanting to build a house all the workmen are there ready and waiting to start but no bricks arrive, a house simply cannot be built without bricks. The diet principle is very similar in muscle building, no matter how well you stimulate muscle growth mass cannot be built if you do not provide sufficient building blocks! Some believe that just because they eat well its plenty of nutrition for muscular growth however the process requires what I call "diet adaptation". Every time muscle is built the body needs additional muscle building nutrition to build more. Remember a bigger house requires more bricks! The building blocks for muscle building is protein and many believe a high protein diet is essential to build muscle fast, however nutritional intake as a whole is more important, each macronutrient has an important role to play in the muscle building process. Protein intake is important but more essential is the quality of protein not the quantity. Carbohydrates are the body's preferred fuel for many muscular contractions, especially those in a muscle building workout. If levels are low the body has to breakdown protein and convert it to carbohydrate, remember our energy requirements always come first. If carbohydrate intake is low protein from the muscles will be lost. The cells cannot use body fat because weight training is too intense. Fat contains more than twice the calories as the other macronutrients, some bodybuilders panic at the thought of consuming more fat. However there are additional chemical reactions that go on inside muscle cells during the recovery and growth phases. Extra fat in the diet will help provide additional calories for these processes, helping to spare the protein and speed recovery. Building muscle fast also results in an increased metabolism. Another factor that helps use it as energy and limit the amount stored around the body. The good fats supply essential fatty acids and are important in the muscle building process. Fats also supply extra calories which are a major requirement when the body is in an anabolic state! Nutrition adjustments are essential for fast muscle building Nutritional requirements are constantly adjusting as muscles grow, the intake of all nutrients must keep up with new requirements. Energy from carbohydrates, fats and protein need to be gradually increased inline with the progress in the gym. Muscle building nutrition is crucial if you want to build up quickly.
