Stretch for warming up ButtocksThis is an important stretch to do before heavy squats or leg presses in order to warm up the buttock muscles. Heavy squatting places a lot of stress on these muscles and the lower back, it is wise to make sure you don't get any injury in these areas.
How to do the Buttock Stretch * Using a soft mat or carpet lie down on your back and gently pull your left leg towards your chest. Keep the right leg straight. Grasp your hands together and hold the knee in this position for 20 - 30 seconds. Repeat for the right leg.
* You should always perform a stretch under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Remember it's much safer to under stretch than to overstretch. Never overstretch a muscle during a warm up. If you feel pain or discomfort at any stage during a stretch then stop the stretch immediately!
