Sample Diets For Gaining Weight

Below are three sample diets which help me gain muscular weight relatively quickly. They are actual samples of my own diet from the last time I gained muscular weight and size. I rarely use the same diet twice as I prefer the freedom of eating a variety of foods to maintain a healthy balance in my overall diet plan. Sometimes I swap meals with different diets to make a completely new weight gain diet, I just make sure the calorie content is about the same.

The three weight gain sample diets are illustrated to give you some idea of how a weight gain diet should be constructed. I do not believe you should follow these weight gain sample diets as its important to stick to your own eating habits and food preferences. If you are underweight I would suggest you reorganise your eating into 5 - 6 meals per day by starting with your normal diet and add another meal / snack to the diet each week. This method will gradually increase calorie intake and limit the amount of weight gain as fat.

It may seem like lots of food needs to be eaten in the sample diets but I require over 3000 calories each day just to maintain my body weight of 208 pounds. When I attempt to gain additional muscular weight I need to increase it to about 3500 calories per day. Over the last 2 years I have gained over 65 pounds of muscle mass using these weight gain diet methods.

Why does muscle growth slow down or stop?

** I do not eat these foods or meals too often. They were included to help provide extra energy needed to continue to gain muscular weight and to give me more choice and freedom to enjoy convenient or take away foods. I usually only consume these once or twice in a week during my weight gain diet.

If you decide to use my weight gain sample diets for yourself please consult with a dietician beforehand!
